Hi,

I'm conciddering buying a N900 but I like to password protect my phone. Currently I have a HTC and when you activate the screen it askes for a password (like a windows ctrl+alt+del unlock workstation).
In the manual I found that a password can be set and the default is 12345 but I want to be sure that's not like on the old nokia phones, only promted when booted.
So I want the phone to lock every time I disable the screen or close the keypad, and ask for a password when opening the keypad or activating the screen.

call me paranoid but i like it this way.

You can lock the N900 manually at any time by pressing the Power button and choosing "Secure Device" from the menu that appears.

In addition, you can set the device to auto-lock after a specified period in the Settings. Hope that helps
