Yes, it shows both videos from the two ends of the conference. I was doing videoconference to my PC using two gtalk accounts. My PC is running Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) with Empathy. You can get there making a call to a jabber client with videoconference capabilities.

I just tested this myself by getting called by the girlfriend. She used the "video call" feature from the chat inside Gmail. It worked for a few seconds until I started my camera on the n900, then it disconnected after receiving a few frames from me. I was able to receive video from her all this time, though in very poor quality (missing codecs maybe?).

However, this is a good sign! I hope we'll get something out of it with a few patches.

EDIT: After playing with this new feature, my CPU went crazy (load average of 10) and the OS started swapping until it ran out of memory.

This is the process that's raping my device:

Code:
/usr/bin/gst-launch-0.10 ximagewsrc
By the time I'm finishing writing this post, the device has stopped responding. So be careful when you test video conference, you might lose some data if were working on something in the same time.

It's the default IM software that comes with the new released PR1.1 firmware.

I have Google talk account on N900 and another Google talk account on my computer. Both, my computer and the N900 are on the same network, so they have full access to each other. Called the N900 from Gmail, and then pressed the camera icon on the N900... and I started seeing the video on the computer. I don't have a webcam on my computer so not sure if computer->n900 works.
