I've recently purchased a N900, and I'm trying to create a new e-mail account to connect to my hotmail/msn account.
The settings I'm using are :

    Incoming server : pop3.live.com
    Outgoing server : smtp.live.com

But when it's all setup, I get the message :

"Unable to connect to pop3.live.com. Server name or port number may be incorrect"

Can someone tell me the correct settings please ?

    Hi jonty.
You do not have to manually inserting your account datas, you can simply open Email, than New Account, and under the Provider field select "Hotmail", it will automatically use the proper Hotmail servers. Remember that you have to enable pop3 in your account, but maybe it's already enabled by default.

    Jonty,

Unless you pay a subscription fee Hotmail will not work on your device. It used to be free to access your pop3 account about 10 years ago.

Works fine with most other email accounts.

@Asidana... my bad, it works and it is free.

I've been using hotmail for a very long time and remember when they brought in the charge. Glad to see its free again.
