It does everything it was supposed to do. It's been rock-solid stable and trouble-free for 1/12 months of heavy use as a phone, tracking several email accounts, using company webportals and general surfing.

Obviously the OP has some kinda problem, be it an installed app acting up, defective hardware - whatever - he needs to do some troubleshooting, find the trouble and not put the blame on Maemo or the N900 in general.

And those moaning about this or that missing feature:
    a. Shoulda done your homework.
    b. It has all the basics - maybe not exactly what YOU want, but the basics all work well.
    c. Either be patient and wait for missing apps or features to be added or...
    d. Start coding what you want if you can or...
    e. Shut up and sell your N900.

    Written quickly and problem-free from a N900.
i do laugh and at fanboy ****wits like this,

basics - no it does not, it cant even be used for email , no search slow operation , no features (not even the basics). If you dont miss this features you really dont need email at all lol.

The basics do not all work well , i cant be arsed to go though all the issues, its a great "toy / device" but understand from a business communication perspective its not up to scratch.

Its a shame as i will miss the browser and computer based functionality. but its just not up to scratch imo.

No need to apologize...you're free to have any priorities that you wish. I'm just saying that amazes me that people consider it an "issue", despite the fact that whatever they are accessing is both accessible, and readily available.

I'm using backspace for back and shift+backspace for forward. I don't see the use for any more buttons in a already tight space.

But you have to open the keyboard to do that. The back button on screen takes far too long to load. If only there were an option to change that soft key to be just a back button.

Flash is a main process that likes to hang around sometimes even after closing the browser. Depends on the app using Flash, but if you see browsersd sucking up cpu after closing everything, that may be the problem.

I agree with some of what you say.

I hope Nokia will supply existing users with a replacement back to take care of the reflecting flash problem, as well as improve the firmware. Pictures without perfect light have too much "fuzziness" for want of a better word. Today I took a photo of a black football jersey and that had this fuzziness as well, in normal light in the daytime. It doesn't seem to handle black very well.

I've had freezes as well, and I don't understand why a web page I've kept open for 6 hours will start "not responding". It's just a long blog article with 100+ comments. There's no updating involved.

The album artwork will only show up if you have separate picture files in the directories. It shouldn't show up if it's embedded into the music file. This is not necessarily a bug, the phone is just showing every single picture in the phone. If you don't want to see them, make sure you choose "camera folder" or something along those lines.

Try resetting the tracker for your music. I have around 16gb worth of music on my memory card. I just reset the tracker overnight once and it's picked everything up. Having said that, I've never had the problem you've had. Only if I try to look at the media player straight after disconnecting from the computer, which is understandable as the phone is still finding the changes made.

gmail web interface with a stylus works perfectly for me. how can it not be used for email? what a load of bs. why rely on the os software when you dont have to. most businesses have a web interface. just load up a microb page with your web client and dont close the bloody thing

Moan moan like little girls is all some people here like to do. Go write some code of your own and stop wasting bandwidth. If I dont like a device, I just sell or get my money back. Dont bore everyone if you feel you bought rubbish, I dont care if ur sisters ferrari is faster. Stop being an irritant, go buy the latest from Apple or HTC or RIM, its ur choice. Grow up people.

I don't know if I am using my email the wrong way, but if I could use email regularly to hourly, then I guess our definition of working email is different. You can't search? Wow, I guess my searching is not working either since my searches come up instantly.

yea..i do wish the animations were a bit smoother. my old moto cliq with the outdated arm11 processor is much smoother with the open program animation (zoom in, out) and scrolling operations. its a tad bit dissapointing and i hope that they are able to make is much smoother.

and to the above poster...(Enyibinakata)..please..stop your useless banter. if we wanted an apple, rim, or htc..for the money we paid for this phone..we would have one.
