I don't know if this is an issue for anyone else. But has anyone been getting authentication failed? I know it's not my password or my account being compromised. My password still works and there's no unusual IP activity.
Mind sending in a log so I can see what the real error is that I must somewhere convert to an authentication error?
Been having the same issue for awhile as well, whenever I switch connections; 3.5G to 2.5G, I get the network error. I just open that account save it again and it reconnects. I have 4 other accounts for IM and TOR never reconnects automaticaly. I believe that its trying to reconnect when the other IM accounts are connecting so it fails, you had a script awhile ago that lengthend the time out or the time it took to reconnect, was that included in an update or was it a one off script/code?
Hi Epage,
I have the same problem, but it happens with my google voice/talk account. I have to go into the account and hit "save" and then it connects. I don't know which logs you need ( if you wanted to look from another perspective ) but would be more than happy to send them to you if you point me in the right direction / you need them.
Dial Central works great no problems...I like the direct integration better than having to run Dial Central..
BTW I have
gmail
google voice
facebook chat (using Jabber)
Skype

Let me get this straight by "google voice/talk" you mean both of them?
One thing someone could do is if you have this easily reproducible to run "dbus-monitor --session > log". I say easily because that log is very chatty and can contain passwords as well as other things.
well I'm having network error issues almost every time my internet connections switches from wifi to gprs or vice versa. The only way to fix it is to disable and re-enable the Gvoice account.
Also, when connected I now miss a lot of received texts, they just never show up
**EDIT** Btw, this pretty much started after PR1.2 I have the most current version of TOR available from the repositories
I decided to uninstall and re-install TOR to see what would happen. Nothing changed, all the problems remained.
I then went ahead and uninstalled completely using:
Code:
apt-get remove --purge telepathy-theonering
then re-installed.
I now get all my messages, but I am now only using GV contacts. Before I had disabled gv contacts and was just using the regular contacts. Is the regular contact feature having known issues at this time? **EDIT** I'm starting to think the only issue I had with that was the fact that I was not using GV contacts.
I am still getting a network error issue from time to time when switching Internet connections.

I just tried sending a text message to someone using regular contacts... the text does not show up in the IM screen, however when I check my GV account, the text shows up as having been sent.

I had both of them! But it was the google voice one that was having connectivity issues (sometimes skype, rarely facebook)
(((((I have clarified in my mind the difference between the google voice and google talk. (google talk is software on a pc that allows to chat...as far as I am aware, you can not do that with the n900...right?))))
I just reflashed (for other reasons) and will monitor and do a log if necessary.

I was referring to just the google voice.
I will try the log things.
of course you can use Google talk as well, it is one of the built in chat clients. just go to accounts and add your google talk account.
