I like the "paper notebook" feel of the white background. It just does not feel right to me to "draw" on a black background. Maybe I'll add a "fill" option so that you can fill sketches with a black background color by default and then draw with a white pen color.

For rich text, I don't know.. Might be worth a shot, but rich text is the least-used feature of the three types for me right now...

Checklist nodes are already white-on-black, just like a normal treeview (it's a normal treeview, after all .

For sketches, the fullscreen mode now hides the scroll bars. I'm not sure if it's worth investing much time in fitting kinetic scrolling with the sketch widget. I'm doing most of my drawing in full-screen anyway.

I'll see if I can simply use the pannable area (kinetic scrolling) for the rich text mode (it might be problematic for selection and stuff). Again, rich text isn't that important for me, so it might just end up with the normal scrollbars for now

    Checklists already have kinetic scrolling.

I here you with the classic light notepad look. Xournals A4 sheets looks pretty neat.. I would suggest a preference setting for "theme - light or dark" or as you say a fill/bacground color. Its of minor priority though.

kinetic handtool would have been great... a "floating" width/height of the sketch area would be awesome aswell..

I really appreciate your work thp. I am a true panucci and gpodder fan ;-)

please tell me how or if I can assist you further...on any project

As this thread slowly becomes filled with good ideas, it would be nice if you could collect all ideas (=feature requests) and issues (=bugs) in the corresponding categories at https://garage.maemo.org/tracker/?group_id=1291 (which is MaePad's new tracker on Garage). That'd be really helpful

I have started to add some feature request.. I just took a few "from the air" now. Will keep em updated as they come from any corner. I wait to submit bugs as this version is alittle too unstable atm.

One question I have had since I got my first Maemo device. Why are there no margins in Notes or any other apps like that? I dont mean very much but maybe just a few pixels. I don't like pusinh the first letters all up to the left black edge. Just a small small margin would really make it more readable and better looking. Giving away one letter for some margin on the side can't be too bad.. ?

Good news everyone: MaePad 1.0 announced and released

(Get it from Extras-Devel and give it some thorough testing. Report bugs and feature requests.)

I've been following this thread and the program looks promising. Although I am not brave enough to test it out in devel repo, I was wondering if integration with the calender can be added as a feature. The check list and quick notes can be attached to the calendar and used to keep track of to do list and so forth...

It really looks good. Again, great job thp.

I now see what you mean that these icons can have different states. I didn't get that first. I made icons for the shape tool here:
