Actually, I would buy a larger Maemo tablet. Think of touchscreen Nokia Booklet running the Maemo 5 desktop. GPS, WiFi, 3G, 10 hour battery life...

Yup, I can see how it can be useful. Even more so with a protective case that doubles up as a keyboard. You can then detach said keyboard, but always carry both without it being a hassle.

I would too buy a Maemo Tablet over a Max Pad anyday

Nokia are a business and have chosen a path of using the OSS community phenomenon to reduce their overheads specifically after sales support and development. Unlike Apple who do the opposite and make a killing from their Applications store.
