I would get a keyboard like that, but the price is just too outrageous. Maybe $30.

There are users on gmane.comp.handhelds.maemo.users who have used the Frogpad with Internet Tablets and stated the Frogpads are very usable.

But they appear to be pretty thick. Not really suited to rigging up a Sidekick-style arrangement, from what I can see.

If I'm going to carry something heavier, I'll go a full folding keyboard. I'm looking for something for walk-around gaim, that sort of thing. I would love to be able to use this thing the way folks with a Sidekick casually chat on IM for hours. You know, without sitting down and unfolding something.

I was envisaging replacing the existing plate with one with a groove or indentation where the current magnet is, so that when you put the new cover on, its magnet falls right where the current one is.

Once I put a card in the internal slot, I don't intend to remove it often (it will probably be an 8GB, so "at all" is very likely), so I could live with having to manually unmount it if I did.

But which is it? $1500+ is not even close to that figure.
499 euros plus service contract makes more sense than $1500-2000. Who would pay $1500-2000 rather than get the OQO for less?

It looks like it will be priced at $650 USD:
