Nice. My Tzones plan is granfathered in from a long time ago, and is at $4.99 (I guess they upped it by a dollar since then)

IM with Google works fine, mail is working with imap, and Skype is the primary reason I went with this option instead of cell minutes. Works perfectly over 3G. I haven't tried SSH directly to phone over 3G, but I think thats not possible as I'm quite sure the IP your 3G connection is assigned isn't a publicly accessible address. Prolly natted behind a firewall.
What about ssh from the n900 to someplace else?

When I said "SSH," I meant logging into another computer from the n900.

Just changed my data plan from the 24.99 to the 10.00 plan, and everything is working perfectly. Thanks to the OP.

    Cheers,

Yes, that is what I am interested in as well. But pagesix1536 only seemed to consider the other direction, which he did not think possible because of NAT of the IP address.

That is why I specifically asked about ssh from n900 to an ssh server.

Your internet access may not work at the start of the next billing cycle (if they know you're using a smartphone)

How does battery drain differ in normal (voice plan) mode and in internet only (VoIP) mode?

I'm still not clear as to what is the exact procedure is for obtaining a T-Mobile $10/mo unlimited data plan.

Can I simply order the pre-paid $100 voice plan, and then order the $10 data plan, both online?

(I have an unlocked 2g iPhone that I've been using with AT&T's $25 Pay-as-you-go GoPhone card, and their 100mb MediaNet service for $20.)
I'd really, really like to switch to T-Mobile, but I'm still not clear on how to do it.

same here . don't understand it either ..

    my question are ?

i get t mobile to change my data plan to the $10 , they text me a data plan info do i have to add some number to my phone ??

if i get the T zones which i just called them and they say its free on some phone but they can send me a data text . Will i get full access to the internet or they will charge me for what i use. its free but they told me its limited access .? does it matter cuz our phones are so great that it bypasses that .?
