Nokia have stated many, many, MANY times that the 770 will continue to be supported with bug fixes and new firmware.

So I have to ask, what is your point? If you want to complain about bugs which don't have corresponding entries in the Maemo Bugzilla, you know what to do if you want them fixed. There's precious little chance of your pet bug (and we all have them - some of us more than one!) being fixed unless Nokia know about it!

Heh, Pentium III? I still use my PII ThinkPad (sans LCD screen) hooked up to and old CRT monitor for "simple" Linux tasks. I still think it's amazing that my 770 can out pace that old thing, and it's only 10 years old.

I just want to be offered an upgrade price. Same as any software vendor does. Nokia has not fixed six-month old bugs. This is like going to a car dealership, buying a new car, getting it home and finding out the doors don't shut. You go back to the dealer a few times, get fobbed off while he's selling more cars. Eventually you go back and the guy says "ah well, we can't fix the doors on that car... but don't you want the doors fixed AND an MP3 jack and side-airbags? Well give me a few grand more..."

Okay I've entered the bug in Bugzilla. Do you work for Nokia or something? You seem awfully confident in the corporate beast not dropping a product they are promising to support. I don't mean to patronize you, so don't take this the wrong way, but you might be being a bit naieve.

No, I don't work for Nokia, but seeing you post the same overly dramatic message that has been posted by many many people throughout the last month just annoys the hell out of me... Your message is not based on fact, it's total bo11ox to be honest. You haven't been abandoned, nor have Nokia said you will be left without support. Read Ari Jaaksis blog for the latest news on Nokias position regarding the 770.

I just hope we won't be getting posts such as yours every few weeks whenever a 770 owner wakes up and realises the world of Internet Tablets has moved on. YES, I'm a 770 (and also N800) owner, and YES I think Nokia could/should have handled the situation better, but they didn't and there's really nothing you or I can do about it except wait until they release the promised OS 2007 backport, and continue to ship further 2006 updates. How long this support will continue for, and how many bugs will be fixed in those releases I really have no idea, but it would be very stupid of Nokia to ship updated firmware that contains only minor bug fixes - the firmware updates have to remain credible.

I really don't know if Nokia will fix your bug, I won't even give odds on it being fixed as the odds are probably quite low, but without communicating it to Nokia you've got zero chance. So well done, keep an eye on the bug tracker and with luck it will be fixed (although I understand the whole email client is likely to be replaced with Modest anyway).

Hey, guess what? I had my first unexpected and unexplained browser crash! It was on the N800, cruising youtube, but at least I'm in the club now! Right?

I'd like to be able to use bluetooth earphones for telephony and headphones for music. I'd like a simple way to power a USB device like USB flash memory.

    Texrat, welcome to the club
Consider yourself very lucky to get your first browser crash now; it's the first cause of daily reboots for most of us.

Hmmm. I didn't have to reboot, just restarted the browser.

    Darn.

Just after posting that comment last night, a local radio station site, which had Flash, caused Opera crash and my 770 reboot.
I guess it was mad at me
