So instead of making new media players to replace the frankly weak one the maemo 5 has, how about making plugins that integrate into it and improving it?
Like someone could write a plugin whereas it lets you browse your music by folder. Or an EQ plugin or whatever you can think of.

Is it possible?

Media Player's closed source, so making plugins for that sort of functionality is going to be... well.. impossible.

Well that's a real bummer. Kind of doesn't make any sense as to why it's closed source though when everything else is...

The browser, and most of the preloaded/essential bits of the N900 are closed source as well.
