My question is slightly similar:

I have my phone on silent most of the day, but I keep missing meeting appointments that go off in my pocket.

Is there a way to adjust the profile (or create a new profile) that allows certain things to be on/off.

i.e Silent = Phone silent but calendar vibrates

maybe with tweakr ?

Hmm. Have you checked settings->profile. You could perhaps turn ringing tone down or choose something quieter for it and keep all the other sounds up.
