I have some troubles making any video file (apart from the 9 trailer) running smoothly on my N900. I have installed almost anything listed in these forums, however my video playback is still laggy. I have Mplayer, KMplayer and SIB installed. I have tried appliyng some modifications to my mplayer config file and things got even worse, I used the following guide:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...hlight=mplayer

Am I missing something? I do not believe that the N900 is meant to play videos that way.

Has anyone encountered the same problem and is there a solution. Or can someone with smooth video playback share his/hers experience.

I have a couple of video files with a resolution of 624x352 and ~900kbps, and they play smooth. I've read somewhere that if you play a file with a resolution over the native resolution it will have problem playing the file.

"Video file" is like saying to repair man that I have problem with my washing machine without telling brand, model.

So how about if you tell us what codec and resolution is used on this video file.

And why have you done any modifications? offical Media player and kmplayer for example use Maemo 5's default decoder which uses HW to accelerate h.264 videos. More here:
