    ^ Wow!

    Awesome post! Thanks!

I was going to warn whoever in this thread not to buy the batteries from China anymore.

    They're much too old.

I received like two of them a week back and they each have a life of about 45 minutes.

I'll definitely follow your suggestion so thanks again!

EDIT: The dr_frost_dk post above mentions a 7% discount from mugen, not sure if it is still valid. -- "HtheB wanted to add that if you use the voucher code FACEBOOKSPECIAL you get a 7% discount (this if for everything on the mugen website, not just the XL-Cover)"

Returning for a bit after the shock of lcuk's passing:

While I'm not sure anyone is interested, I've done a build of a MeeGo-derived core for ARMv6+VFP. It is quite stripped down, but I've had qmlviewer up with full GLESv2 (on N900), Xorg, Connman, Ofono, Bluez in 38mb userland memory.

If anyone is interested in following through on this somehow, feel free to poke me on IRC

I still use my N800, at least a few times each week, mostly to check something on the web. My most used app (after Tear) is Xmms.

As for batteries, I bought a 2nd BP-5L (Li-Pol) Nokia battery from a vendor on Amazon (ccmaccessories) about 6 months ago. Though it looks like they are now sold out, I paid about $17 for it at the time.

When I had a problem with batteries not lasting, my issue turned out to be a corrupt SD card causing it. After formatting the SD card and restoring from backup, everything is back to normal. - Worth a try...

    Hi momcilo.

Do you know what revision of the kyra.dat file is needed for Lands of Lore or does that game use the kyra engine you disabled?

Thanks for the great new build!

    Just dropping this here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AEKIXVeBGY

    GCC 4.6.1, Qt 4.8-beta, Linux 2.6.38, systemd

Video shows: MeeGo-derived core called Mer, built for ARMv6+VFP running on Nokia N810 with 2.6.38 kernel (from OpenWRT project). Boots into QMLviewer

Any lag in screen can be prescribed to the Xorg driver not doing manual OMAP display updates and may in fact be faster than it looks like.

If you heard funny noise, that was my jaw dropping to the floor.

Was that you or somebody else?
Either way it is good to see you active here again.

    Is Mer still alive?

Yes, that's me. I still have 2x N800 (one with wobbly screen) and a N810 and it bothers me a lot I can't use them with modern software.

Some of us are working on a different approach to MeeGo where we re-use the Mer name and port it to everywhere, non-Atom, ARMv6, ARMv7 softfp/hardfp, etc., with emphasis on a small core for building household interactive items
