This is exactly the problem I have, too. But not after the switch to PR1.2, but since I started using the latest version of AutoDisconnect. RSS can not automatically establish an Internet connection. (Only manually)

Even with this feature does not work.

Therefore, so my suggestion for a further extension for AutoDisconnect.
Perhaps it is possible to integrate an Auto Connect.
    Why do I need it?
What battery life I do not want my N900 constantly online, I leave the Internet connection. However, I would like my e-mail program and OMWeather be updated. Only these two programs use only one connection to the Internet, but to not even open.
So it would be a perfect opportunity to get what you can adjust all the N900 1H, 2H, 4 or 6 hours automatically be an Internet connection. And maybe you can set connection type with which it is to log in (3G or Wifi or Wifi & 3G).

Hmm to be honest I updated autodisconnect and went to PR 1.2 at the same time...

I am not sure if it was mentioned before but AutoDisconnect still uses the (now) deprecated libqt4-maemo5-* packages instead of just libqt4.
Maybe you can fix that as well with the next update?
    Thanks

    Hi Calvin

I have just installed this app, configured it and have run it. I have used the settings shown on the first page here - http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=45053

Have turned off and on the machine again.

Thing is...im at work now..on wifi..and even if i do nothing for ages..it DOESNT disconnect. When i started the machine a notification came up saying that Autodisconnect was running, however ive not once seen my wifi get disconnected at all. Any clues on this? Would really love to get some more battery life out of this. thanks

Try higher values for minimal traffic. If you're often connected, it's because you are using a widget which needs internet (facebook, omweather, etc.) => it generates traffic.

You can see the log file /var/log/autodisconnect.log too

0.4-2 has been released. It now uses the Qt libraries included in PR.1.2..

You can now remove the old dependences using :

    Code:
    apt-get remove libqt4-maemo5-core libqt4-maemo5-dbus libqt4-maemo5-gui libqt4-maemo5-maemo5 libqt4-maemo5-xml
I didn't include the modification concerning the switch to Dual Mode instead of 3G Mode because it meant increase the delay during the connection from 3 seconds up to 7-8 seconds.

I wanted to discuss this point before implement it. I could add the 2 options :

    - Use 2G when not connected and switch to 3G Mode (quick mode)
    - Use 2G when not connected and switch to Dual Mode (long mode)

    Please share your ideas.

I will investigate this problem. But I don't think I can reproduce it. Don't forget that on the N900, the applications don't make the device connect to the Internet (See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7180).

The AutoConnect feature is interesting indeed. Can you confirm that :

    - if an app want to refresh data every 2 hours let's say at 1PM, 3PM, 5PM.
    - If your phone is only connected from 4PM to 4.15PM

=> the app will be updated at 4.15PM ?

I think it's the case with MFE but I have no idea for the other apps. So if it's not the case, an AutoConnect feature seems to be hard to implement (you cannot choose the update time on every app).

    Cheers

I assume that there would be an 'autodisconnect-bluetooth' process if it was? If so, it must be something else that's doing it. But I haven't experienced any disconnects since increasing the bluetooth timeout. Strange
mmm, now since I upgraded to PR1.2 I now get even more bluetooth headset disconnects. The headset will disconnect then reconnect several times in a row while I'm listening to music. Good thing I also have the Headphone Daemon installed as well, otherwise everyone around me would be getting blasts of Weird Al Yankovic . VERY disturbing ... .
