My point was that the icon of installed live paper is shown after a while and not in the first instance like black plastic...
    Have you tried this?

    Hi Vlad,

Thanks for a great application. I am currently using 0.8.5 and I do not see the option to mute sound in a video. You seem to imply that it was added in 0.7.1. Please verify if this feature was added and if so where may I find it. If it hasn't, kindly let us know when.

Additionally, is there a recommended video format for smooth playback? I'm currently using a mpg video and the playback is quite choppy.

    Thanks!

    Hi JayBEE.

I've tried to add option 'Sound' in version 0.8.5. But I had no success

Sound after starting of Livewallpaper video stream is off, but if I've pressed hardware volume buttons in my n900 then the volume changes and sound is not silent in the video stream
I've used options 'mute' and 'volume' from this page
    http://www.gstreamer.net/data/doc/gs...pulsesink.html

And I've tried to direct audio stream to /dev/null. Then video stream doesn't work.

Can anybody help me to deactivate sound in gstreamer?

I can try to use Mplayer instead of gstreamer. But I need free time for it.

    Vlad.

This video is what i converted i set the fps and bitrate quite high to make it smooth, maybe if it was converted with lower settngs it may stay relatively smooth but use lower cpu usage.

What app are you using to show cpu usage on your desktop?

I use conky but the livewallpaper app stops when i open up conky so i don't get a good reading.

    Try mp4 format.

I put a few files on an old post a few pages back (post #240) called sunrise, clouds, waves try these they seem to work fine.

    sunrise,clouds,waves

Also just to confirm cpu usage

    Waves 30fps mp4 shows 99% on systeminfowidget

    and

    matrix shows 40-44%

    Hi guys.
Well, after trying Live Wallpapers, I've decided it's not for me.
Great app and some good effects, but It's a bit heavy on the stock kernel.

However I'm trying to uninstall it, but running into problems with Sherman's Aquarium. Live Wallpaper won't uninstall because it requires files from Sherman's Aquarium 3.0.1-9. But I've got that installed, and indeed it is v3.0.1-9.

    Cheers.

depending on the desktop i'm putting it, matrix always has at least 40% cpu usage.
on my "main" desktop 50% minimum.
on the desktop with the facebook-widget it goes up to 90% when the widget scrolls text.
    its just too much usage.
