Guys please I need some help ... do you know any good store here in london that allows you to swap phone, I'd like to exchange my n900, I think I'm done with my n900 ..... I don't see a clear future with this OS.

Any suggestion would be a great help.

Sorry to hear you feel that way.

Apart from the likes of 'Cash Converters' or the Co's that advertise that they buy 'phones on TV (who'll just bid you in the balls) I don't know any stores that mightb help.

Maybe an independent retailer would take the phone on a sale-or-return basis if you bought a new phone from them. They would need to have a good profit in selling it for you 'cause they'd have to stand any warranty claims under the Sale of Goods Act.

Before the smart-asses gather to give you a good kicking for stepping out of line, why not try a fresh post on this forum advertising the 'phone for sale - you might be surprised how many people come to this site looking to buy an N900.

Expressing a negative view of your N900 experience might well rob you of a sale wherever you dispose of the device, so it'd be best to keep stuff like that under your hat until you've sold it...

Good luck with whatever you do.

that's so helpful thanks!

I expect people to throw away negative replies on my question ... those are clearly 100 percent fanboys that is in denial for the fact that n900 is not a "smart" phone .... and yeah right they might say the same line again "it's an internet tablet with phone integration and i love it to death"

i was actually reading this thread when someone called me, when id finished the call the phone froze and i had to remove the battery, but its still the best device of its kind currently on the market, im not a fanboy, im just sensible and knew that the n900 was a work in progress before i bought it, and im very grateful that nokia released it so i can help further the progress of meego, maemo, n910, or what ever the future may bring, thats what interests me in this device and keeps my iphone, n97, and n95 in their boxes on the shelf, freedom!

Well, I'd have to say that in my experience, the N900 is a brilliant phone in many ways, but it is a radical departure to what we all know.

I beat my head against the wall for weeks trying to make it work like all my past phones, but eventually I came to appreciate the way it works.

Finding contacts is easier than any other device - snap open, type the first few letters, click the contact, tap the number to dial.

Dialling from a contact on the homescreen beats any other device I've tried: tap the contact, tap the number to dial - could it be made any easier?

'shortcutd' has allowed me to activate the all history with one long click on the camera button for dialling my most-used contacts.

I'd still like to sort contacts into groups and asign different ringtones, but I guess that'll come soon. If not - I can get by.

I don't miss voice dialling - very unreliable IMO and doesn't work with contact names of an Asian persuasion!

I have tried other phones and apart from tradition hard-button devices nothing compares to N900 and it will only get better with PR 1.2 and whatever follows.

I notice that Nokia still issue updates for some quite old 'phones so I expect N900 will continue to be supported in the same way even if Meego is not implemented, which is looking increasingly more likely.

Add to all that the backup, support and adfvice from this forum and perhaps you can see why I intend to keep my N900 for some time yet.

I don't think I'll get a better package elsewhere...

I wish we had a site where dissent didn't make one a target -- I liked the idea of a bunch of "Internet Tablet" fans, where the bills weren't paid by Nokia. I love my N900, personally, but I would feel more comfortable if this place wasn't such a shooting gallery.

Does the range make the cowboy, or the cowboy make the range?

i am very disappointed with the N900...

i still donot understand why it does not have any quality programs..most of the programs are just silly...in fact embarassing for a $400 phone...

also, any criticism about N900 is not taken positively...most of the N900 fanboys start assuming that person posting the comment is an Apple user...which I am not...I dont own apple products...but this just goes to show the insecurity of N900

I feel stuck with this phone...I cant make video calls n much more that i though i would be able to do with it...

also, everything about this phone is "in the works" or "you have to install xxx and do yyy and do zzz" to do a basic task...

a $400 phone with no development support..i would never fall for this nokia hype again.
