EDT: As the .deb file is obsolete, I have removed it from here. Follow the development of this app from here instead: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=113

QSportsEvent allows you to import league schedules and calculate league standings. QSportsEvent is still in early stages of development. It comes with the schedule for the group stage of the Football World Cup 2010 as the sample.

You can create and import your own league schedules, anything from international events, national championships, or why not, your local amateur league? If you do, please share ithe file as an attachment to this thread.

The file format is as follows:

    Code:
    A	1	2010-06-11 16:00	South Africa	Mexico
    A	1	2010-06-11 20:30	Uruguay	France
    Group\tRound\tDate\tHome Team\tAway Team\tHome Score\tAway Score

You have to enter a Group. It makes sense for WC, but maybe for EPL, you just type EPL? Home and away score are optional.

The current implementation is 'offline', which means you import the schedule and that's it! There is no functionality to keep the data up to date (yet...).

The next version, 0.0.4, should include the ability to update the scores and recalculate the standings (offline). In 0.0.3 you can update the score (triple click (!) on a cell), but the data is not kept, so don't enter too much!!

The app is released at this early stage to get input as to what functionality users might expect out of it.

    Known bugs:

    1) If no score is provided in the import file, the app will assume '0-0' and calculate the standing accordingly. This means that any not yet played games are treated as having a '0-0' score.
    2) It's not in extras-devel yet as I get 'Warning: This package does not have a proper description' after successful build. Does anyone have a clue? Instead, I'm attaching the .deb file for the daring.
    3) Font colour of the score should be white.
    4) Incorrect table headings (but I'll blame Qt for that, as it works fine when I run the same app on Vista).
    5) Selecting Team from the combo box will do nothing.

    Missing features:

    1) Update of the score is not saved
    2) New standings are not recalculated after update of score.

Yes, I know there must be hundreds of websites that you can access through the browser which look better, have more features, ... I still believe an app like this can be useful. I am aware of the Scores Widget. That's great stuff, so check it out, but that and this serve different purposes.
