Hi!

I reflashed my N900 few days ago with vanilla. It was a big mistake.

The FAT partition died last week. I heard about the error-checking-trick in windowsxp, but i thought that now a can make a big cleaning. ...than...

1. The apps!
- Some apps are gone.
- Some apps are still shown in the >menu< - >More...< and in the app manager, but aren't running.
- 10% of the apps are still working (Time workshop, Recorder, Simple Brightness Applet...) and Nokia apps too (File manager, Block, Chess, PDF reader)
- conservations, calendar, contacts are empty (of course)

2. OK. I tried to delete the app-snags.
BUT Application manager only shows the messages "Unable to uninstall 'appname'" during delete and "Operation failed" instead of install!

I tried to reflash it again. The same.
Read forums all over the www. Nothing useful for me.
Google wasn't my friend, or I am stupid to understand the documentation.

Why reflash didn't made the device cleaner?
What can I do now?

Thx4help!

If you reflash the eMMC with the VANILLA firmware, you have to reflash the main firmware as well.

THX!!! That wasn't clear!!

OK. The full-flash-process in windowsxp is:
1. Install Flasher

2. the inner rootfs flash-drive
http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...ndows_7_32-bit

3. then the bigger (which visible with usb)
http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...MC_in_the_N900
Only, if it is necessarily. This delete everything from your device, make backup & copy your files to computer.

Sorry about my stupidity!
