I did not mean it like to that Destroid would be no good, maybe just a bad choice of words by me, but in my opinion if you put them to the same line, psx emulator is more interesting, im sure they both are piece of an art what it comes to developing and stuff.

I am very sorry destroid, i did not mean it like that...

What happens when smoku wins? Will it help the project?

Personally, I dont think this app is even qualified to be a "game" for it to be in the game coding competition. It may be qualified as an "Application" or a "Utility" but not a game. So should Sony and other game developers be receiving the bounty then? THEY made the code for FFVII (Square) and other "games" we guys are playing on the PSX4M/ALL.

Besides, all the core code for Pandora which this app is from, is made by ZoTtD isn't it? smoku basically ported, optimized and coded a frontend/frontend generator for it right? (i may be wrong though)

(smoku, I'm not downing your knowledge and reputation for being a developer. I am starting out myself and I'm looking up to you, wanting to be as experienced as you in the future. You are one member who contributes TONS of useful things for the community and you're a great and a genius of a developer in my opinion)

This is a great emulator though, smoku, and I'm using it a lot, but I don't even think this is qualified as a "game".

I voted for SkidStone. *hides and cowers*

You use the emulator to play games therefore it is in the games category. It is not a utility since you don't "utilize" it for anything, you play games with it.
Doing the port and optimizing it is not easy work, btw.

Also, yeah I'm wondering about what the contest winner gets. I'm guessing money?

I know porting is not an easy task because you must know how the n900's OS(Maemo) calls and runs this app and how this app uses the n900's hardware (like the OMAP CPU) to produce the 3D graphics, sounds and I/O processes. Making it stable is another case. Instruction sets is another case. Hell, even the frontend alone can take a good amount of hours for an experienced developer to finish. NOT TO MENTION : IT'S NOT PAID FOR BY EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT USES IT, WHICH MAKES SMOKU AND OTHER OPEN SOURCE DEVS VERY VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE. (software dev't student here)

Since the Pandora (which PSX4ALL came from) uses "basically" the same CPU and OS as the N900, it's not toooooooooooooooo hard.
    It's hard though.

it's just my opinion that it is not a game itself but a "platform" to play games that developers like SquareSoft coded/developed.

Try comparing it with Destroid and SkidStone and you'll see that these two magnificent (though not perfect) games are made from scratch (maybe).
