I too really appreciate Mr.Smoku`s talent, and as well cannot get motives behind this act, which I personally found as immature. I believe he has his motives, and they were important.
Seriously guys get off Smoku's back and read the thread. The incident he is talking about happened a while back (that of nokia not supporting n900 anymore) and he is asking people to stop nagging him. He never said he would stop developing but with some of the comments you have been making I can see him not wanting to work any harder for it. Can't anyone be appreciative of the work already done? Thanks Smoku for developing and even working on your own gpu plugin!
Don't get me wrong. I love smoku and the work he has done here. But I just cant get behind the "It's my ball and I am going home" deal.
I think the coding comp results and the many thankyou posts here have shown we all appreciate smoku, either thats enough to offset the Nokia cluster fudge or it isn't. Not much else we can do.

Why not? And why does it have to be portrayed as though he's gone off to sulk?
The man has a life, and as he's shared with us, a busy one. There are only so many hours in the day, and everyone has their breaking point, so I can completely understand him saying, 'screw this, I have better things to do with my time than this.'
He owes us nothing -- what he's given us so far is more than generous.
