psx4m-gui is exited by default after game start
but if psx4m can't start psx4m-gui would close anyway.
so try start game by Xterm (/home/opt/maemo/usr/games/psx4m -runcd /home/user/MyDocs/game.bin) and look what's happens(and post output here if you will be unsure about results)

try it by yourself and share your experience
while psx4m doesn't support all psx games correctly nobody can grant something more...

from http://a320.emulate.su/tag/psx4all/ i read that a320 port of PSX4ALL can read compressed(with speed decrease) and cutted(without some sounds\videos), so you can try

    also psx4m 0.4.4 and psx4m-gui 0.4-3 already in devel
for me autoframeskip work's fine and very fast (without OC, with cyclemult 4 i get 60fps in some games(with sound, without sound lags) like nfs3hp)
also i send a pm for eq(russian symbian programmer,http://www.summeli.fi/?p=1912) to ask about 3d acceleration support (i can compile psx4m with pete's GPU plugin but it freese at start)
