So I know crontab and I know how to use it. (vi anyone)
So what is better to use in Maemo 5 on the N900? Crontab or Alarmd(libalarm)?
Since I don't know anything about Alarmd, could someone please enlighten me about it? (Point me to usefull literature)
How do I use it to schedule my tasks? (preferably from the command line)
And why does crontab have to be installed separately?

If I'm reading it correctly, then I also have to install aditional software.
So in Maemo 5 there is no default preinstalled schedualing software?
Alarmed uses the Nokia's (non-standard) "alarmd" daemon which is already part of Maemo 5 and uses Python/Qt for GUI. You can use custom commands and set single and/or recurring events.
