Will this ever make it to extras?

Does this work with the OC kernel?

    *bump

Will this ever make it to extras or is there another app I could use to share my 3g connection over wireless? Joikuspot does not provide a "lite" version for the n900

I have some problems with my ipod and iphone.
Iphone can see the wifi signal from n900 and catch it, but when I choose the DHCP option in iphone, iphone gets the IP starting with 169.XXX.XXX.XXX and iphone cannot access to the internet.

But I realized that if I manually assigned the ip starting with 10.XXX.XXX.XXX, it works.

I'm just wondering the IP starting with 169.XXX, is from n900 or iphone automatically put the ip in dhcp. Because other laptops can get the ip starting with 10.XXX.XXX with no problems in dhcp and I don't need to put the fixed ip (10.XXX).

Also one more question although it is related to the iphone.
In all other wifi networks in iphone, the wep passwords are automatically saved and I don't need to put the password again for later connections. But the mobilehotspot wep password is not saved. I have to put the password everytime when iphone is trying to connect the hotspot. Is it natural in ad-hoc network wep process or do I miss something?

Works fine with Titans kernel, now that a usable kernel is in extras I just promoted hotspot as well.

If it ever makes there is not really in my hands anymore (go vote

This is the "standard" range (on apples at least) for "random" IP address when DHCP fails for whatever reason.

So at least the kernel-side of things is working (routing, NAT)

Maybe the iphone does not like DHCP server hotspot uses (dnsmasq is not really a full-featured DHCP server but works for most cases and having full dhcpd would be wasteful)

Probably iPhone treats Ad-Hoc as special and thus does not save the password (I can see why this would make sense in some cases).

Here's the voting page: Mobile Hotspot v 0.3.2

(I haven't installed this yet, I just installed the power kernel a few days ago, I'll install it soon)

Leaving the link out was intentional, before voting one should understand the QA criteria.

Edit: the rationale being that those that do, also know where to vote.
