The price difference between the CORES might be negligible, but why buy a full system-on-chip with GPU and all when you have to add an external video chip to it anyway ? If they put the OMAP3 in there, half of it would be just collecting dust, and that's where the price difference comes in.

Video of N8 using TV-out feature, it looks quite smooth here compared to those videos taken by Nokia.

First page now got the specification and some pictures rather than the shady leaked pictures and info.

Some more pictures of N8.

32GB? Nokia wont ship N8 with memory card so i guess it's just a typo.

Could it be possible to overclock N8 as Symbian is now open source? I do know that it hasn't been done before on a phone running Symbian.

will sum1 help me decide if the n8 is for me more than the n900 ? i just wanted a phone that was the n95-3 with touchscreen and better hardware . i dont plan on developing apps for the n900 or its os , im not a developer . n8 seems really promising but with all the rumors about s^3 being abandon-ware or w/e im not sure . point is , i dont develop or create , i just play and share .

I can't think of S^3 being any more abandoned in time than Maemo 5. S^3 will use Qt4.6 out of the box so future applications will work with S^3 as they will with Maemo 5.

There's still at least 2 months before announcement so wait till you see some live videos of the device running. Should tell enough.

If you're looking for an N95 + touchscreen I would say go for the N8. I haven't tried it yet obviously but Symbian^3 will probably be more mature than Maemo5 is at this stage. It will have to be, because it is still Nokia's mainstream OS.
