Anyone having problems with the n800 suddenly starting in the middle of the night? Seems I cant keep mine to stay off

I doubt it, it just starts with that Nokia jingle. No message that there is an alarm. Can the n800 use any features when switched off?

Alarms can turn on the N800 even when it is powered off - check these threads, you may have a "hidden" alarm:

mine does this often as well, even after disabling rss updates and the pressence app.
