I was wondering if any developers out there could offer some insight into the best way to develop an iPhone style app. I have seen the eggtimer app from the ovi store, which essentially looks like a full screen app with nice gfx for the window and controls.

How would i go about making something similar? Im not asking for a programming lesson just an idea of how to write one for the n900. Is it best to write it as a QT app for this kinda thing? Making the background all nice etc? i would look at the source code for eggtimer, however it is closed source so no can do! Prehaps someone might know of a similar app/style that I could take a look at the source?

QT would be the best way forward considering it will be the base of most apps in Meego as well.
There are plenty of apps available which are FOSS in the reps. Have a look and see what you can achieve with it, there are no limits !

Thanks, sounds like a good direction to go and ultimately increase the support base.

I will have a look at QT framework then and see what I can come up with. I have a bunch of apps I want to write, just dont want them to look like boring standard interface apps, rather something to stand out from the crowd and fun to use!

I'm still trying to figure out what a iPhone Style app is. I guess that is one that is closed source that you can only install from one location.

I'm just joking good luck on your applications.

LOL by that reckoning, it should be a basic app that replicates fart noises or souns clips from an actor no one has heard of. Closed source so that you cant fix the underlying problem, oh and sell it for 59p LOL

@andrewfblack I think he means one that is slick and curvey... It's a style question.
