Maybe you could elaborate a little bit further, what xFire is exactly?
Provide a link, tell us if it's open source...

And which parts of xFire do you want to have on your N900?
AIM and MSN is already there.
Finding games... Really? Um but you know, that the N900 can't run windows games?!

Open source protocol libraries

These libraries offer developers a way to write software to access the Xfire network, without having to write supporting code to handle the protocol, from scratch.
OpenFire
An open source (LGPL licensed) Java API and suite of tools for accessing the XFire instant messaging network.
xfirelib
An open source library written in C++ which implements the Xfire Protocol. Based upon it is a XMPP gateway to Xfire (XFireGateway) which also implements GOIM extensions to the XMPP protocol.

Looks like xfirelib is your best bet...

i would love to see that massenger (Xfire) on the n900 too.

I only use skype and xfire, but most of my friends using
xfire.

Just the integrating of massaginprotokoll for 900 would be
awesom. No need for game recogniton vide recording/ publishing.

Not sure if this helps. i have pidgin for my n900. it works on MSN AIM ec...

Many of us who game use xfire instead. With me its not to game on my phone but its my msn so i use it to chat with pals online.

the link below is to a pidgin plugin page but as yet there is not an n900 option. I wonder if one of the versions could be ported over?

http://gfireproject.org/download/

there are a few xfire versions for the iphone so my friends with iphones wont switch to msn etc...

one is called xfmobile i believe.

Anyway. I am more of a consumer than developer and dont know how easy it is just to "port" things from one format to another so please bare with me and feel free to use child speak in replies lol
