I all, although this is my first post, I’ve been here for some weeks already. This is a great community BTW.

I have this very estrange behavior on my N800, that I have kep noticing for the last few days.

I tried to search on the forums and in Bugzilla @maemo and didn’t found anything so I was wondering if I’m alone in this.

The thing is that about once a day or so my N800 powers on by itself. Let's say I power it off (not lock, I do power it off on the menu) and leave it on the desk. Then few hours later (or maybe minutes) I suddenly hear the power-on music and look at it; “voila” the N800 is on.

Some mornings when I woke up I found the device locked when I was sure I did power it off before go to sleep.

I was unable to find any patter or trigger for this (like timers, touching it, new WLAN in range, etc..)

So I wonder if us just my N800 that is that smart and is trying to take over the world without my permission or maybe something else?

BTW in using the SDHC patched Kernel (I have now 16GB on it ), but I’m pretty sure this started happening before I applied the patch.

Any ideas??

Thanks

It could be that you have the infamous "ghost alarm" haunting your N800.

Apparently, to get rid of it you have to set a new alarm (it doesn't really matter what kind, as long as it's an alarm) and then delete that.

It might come back though...

Indeed - could be a ghost/hidden alarm.

Check this thread:

LOL 3 threads on this already and I didn't found them

Anyway is comforting to know that my N800 is not trying to take over the world and that is just possessed by some "ghost (alarm)"

Whit the help of the "retutime" tool I've been able to exorcise it.

Thanks!!
