hi,

there is a project on sleep patterns based alarms using
accelerometers, see
https://garage.maemo.org/projects/sleeppy/
and http://maemo.org/packages/view/sleeppy/

unfortunately, the uploaded version is only in russian. can
someone translate the stuff? thanks.

there is an overrated, popular iphone app and some scientific
tests which clearly show that you cant rely on it but i am only
interested in the data which is recorded.

Blues

Vadim told me to "go to /home/user/MyDocs/sleeppy/, edit sleeppy.cfg:
In 'user' section 'language' parameter - change 'rus' to 'eng'".
It worked for me. He is going to release an update this week to translate all the terms in english and redo the statistic algorithm.

I've translated everything in English, even the result pages. I have couple ideas how to find deep phase of sleep, using kernel estimators (it's from statistics). But the problem is, for different setups you'll have to adjust the parameters individually. And I'm thinking how to make those parameters adjustments user-friendly. Guess it will take a while. Sorry, with my last year PhD it's hard to combine hobby and work together. I simply have no time for both.

I just discovered this app yesterday, trying it out last night. Works great. Only problem was, I was so excited to see the sleep data, that I woke up before the timeout.

Well... Sleepcycle is one of only a few apps I envy iPhone users. As a data junkie, I think seeing graphs of how I sleep is very interesting.

So, please keep up the good work.

I'm not sure why, but there is nothing ringing. I just can look for my sleep results... Did I missed something?

2 IceJunior: You were right, there was no sound. The problem was in not fully translated messages for the alarm. Anyway, I've fixed the program. Now it should work as designed. Sorry, I couldn't fixed it earlier. I was sick for almost a week.
