Guys,

Can any develop an application which will help us to 'trim' (cut down seconds/min) from our music library. Sometimes you would like to set your favo songs as your ringtone but it's slow and it take too long to start. Then you would be able to just cut down few extra units in the stating of the song. I have a similar software in my pc but I want it in my n900.

Thanks, let me know what you guys think about it.

One of the features I miss from my HTC phones really good to make ringtones on the fly when you download them right to your phone

Depends: libgomp1 (>= 4.2.1) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgsm1 (>= 1.0.13) but it is not installable
Depends: libltdl7 (>= 2.2.6b) but 2.2.6a-1~maemo2 is to be installed
Depends: libmagic1 but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libsox1a but it is not installable
Depends: libsox-fmt-base but it is not installable
Depends: libsox-fmt-alsa but it is not installable or
libsox-fmt-ao but it is not installable or

SD:

I am totally new with N900 dude, you need to give me more detail oriented instructions. So, I take that .deb file and save it in N900 (my doc) then run X terminals?

Is that how I have to do it?

I have been pointed to this a while back:
See http://maemo.org/packages/view/sox/. It is a command line utility.
It's in extras-devel so use with care and at your own risk
I havn't tried it myself yet so i have no clue how well it works or how stable it is.

e: it's not in the repo so it can't be downloaded with app manager. You have to do it from the link above, but you should be able to install with app manager. Doubble tapping works on .deb files and will install throu app manager I have just tried with the sox file from the link above

Try it in xterm with:

sudo gainroot 'enter'

apt-get install sox 'enter'

Should work for you aswell i just installed it that way

e: remember to enable extras-devel and disable after you're done.
