Yes I have installed the cert and set it to wlan. I can't set it to trust cos when i go to the cert manager all i can do is see the details of the cert and nothing else. I did everything according to the post u gave me but the network is still asking for the wep key

Can you try the same steps which i have mentioned above for Irving?
At the point where i mention to add the EAP method as EAP MSCHAPv2 there is an option to select a certificate as a dropdown list.
Do you see any options present there?

The 6259 bug is not a bug at all it seems and Irving should be fine if he does follow the steps i laid out, since it covers adding the username in the correct sections.
Theres one bug i found which i believe is resolved in the mythical PR1.2, which might be useful for someone.
yes exactly this bug will be fixed in 1.2 PR i hope it will fix your Problem too i wait for it couse i work at my University and any Iphone hype student can use Eduroam after i prepared it for our network just i cant about my n9 wont work with it..

I created a new connection profile, filled in the SSID manually, configured it properly - but now what? If I open the wireless connections through the status bar, it displays our work network with exactly the same SSID (four uppercase letters) that I filled in. But next to it, there's no green indicator for a known network, and if I try to connect, it still asks for a Preshared Key. How can I force it to use the configured profile instead of auto-detecting what type of network it is?

If you follow depu's instructions, you should be able to get your wireless connection up & running without any problems, for as far as I know. I did the exact same thing a while back to connect to the wireless at our school (WPA2 Enterprise with certificate, EAP MSCHAPv2). It was already working when I still had PR 1.1 on it so...
Just make sure to go in 'Advanced', go to the tab 'EAP', tick the "use manual username" box and fill your username in again there. (all just like depu said). You can't select the certificate at the 'Select certificate' list in the PEAP settings (I couldn't select it there either) but that doesn't seem to matter, the wifi connection worked anyway...
(I seem to recall Ubuntu linux being able to request the needed certificate instead of having to manually install it, maybe Maemo does the same thing? don't know, but I do know it works )

If your network is not setup specifically for EAP-TTLS + PAP then the Bug ID 1635 does *NOT* apply for you.
If you have the time to experiment, please do try to confirm/try out multiple options to see if you can get it working. Its always useful if we can nail down the setting required for all types of networks so that someone else can have a reference.
