I got mine on launch day in November and was immediately amazed at the call audio clarity compared to the iPhone 3G I had been using for the previous year. It was like stepping into a Rolls Royce from an old VW Beetle.

I don't get this attention seeking nonsense

    Point of reference: right here

I hate to inject a tad bit of seriousness into this love-fest; however if a person that's commiserating is met with such disregard, why not the opposite? I mean, it's all just an attention seeking gesture showing approval, just like the threads that show disapproval of the Nokia N900.

This thread is the opposite of this thread... yet look at the tone.

Don't worry... I know my place. I'm the one that says the unpopular things...
I don't quite see the point in this thread either, but I am also not sure it required this response.... who really cares?. There are so many pointless threads on this site, I doubt one more makes any difference. It is nice to see the positive side, rather than the constant negatives!

BTW I really like my N900 - my biggest issue in the past months has been the doubt over the future support with Maemo/Meego.

Always bit of seriousness is welcome and I will point out mine as well.
I am quite old guy, I am not playing here any kid game. I really wanted to meet happy owners and stick to this group of people. I am not seeking attention at all.

If you looking at facts and compare all of them to competitions or wide choice of devices on the market there is no better device on the market already? Apart of all pluses and minuses that every has, I have this kind of nature that looking for future proof possibilities rather than present state. That's why decided to stick to Flash technology 10 years ago when NO ONE even dreaming about what Flash platform achieved these days. It's ability to predict the future. I am just wondering why did you stay flash guy? Popularity? Trend? Money?

Yes it is indeed Someone pointed out that thread that you can get impression that everything is wrong here because ppl using forum when their are disappointed, unhappy or looking for solution of their problems
I think it's also community and it's good to share experience as well.

From psychological point of view that can really affect ppl and help them do wrong decision. "Disinformation is the weapon of mass destruction"

Guys seriously, I really want to met the positive thinkers here. That's the only reason

Regarding to updates. Because I am quite fresh owner. Just 2 months I can't say anything wrong about updates. I've got N900 brand new with very old firmware I first thing I had to do was update it. I was amazed that I am doing this twice on March! Show me one company or device that got 2 updates within 3 months from premiere?

I didn't lost my faith and not really enjoying sarcastic subjects about new PR 1.2. Can be good for a while but nor so far. At least Chuck Noris has been killed by fake 1.2. So what real 1.2 can do? can you imagine how powerfull it is?

IMHO the N900 is so far ahead from the other smartphones,
Don't know how ppl can still think the Droid or any other phone would be better.

I'll give you only ONE GOOD reason.
    Linux based.

Good and robust UNIX based Operating System killed by Windows popularity and MONOPOLE decade ago.

Now Apple trying to kill all competitors exactly the same way as Microsoft did. Don't you really get it?

This is first device with this concept and as device itself you can call it as tech standard these days. Has everything that suppose to has. We are facing the battle of the tech decade now in mobile world. And n900 can be part of this history till closed minded people let it die as they did decade ago to the Linux against Windows OS.

Ok. But Linux based means what exactly? That's the OS. Doesn't denote superior user experience as mentioned earlier.

So with that said. Concrete reasons. I already know it's Linux based.
