And I'm happy to finally have it after years of wanting something just like it.
MeeGo is really close I think.

I'm actually more excited for the MeeGo release with a UI/UX than I am PR1.2 for Maemo. MeeGo has me pretty hyped.

I'll assume this is a genuine post and bite... so welcome to the forum prakashgalaxy.

A general hint regarding forum use and asking for help that is not related to the thread you are posting in (this one) is to search the forum first, or start a new thread.

You cannot have these widgets, unless they can be downloaded from the "Downloads" section here, or from "Apps" on your phone, or from "Ovi Store".

What you can do however is have web page shortcuts to the exact information page you want and a FULL web page will open, with Flash and javascript running showing you what you need in full, not cut down detail.

N900 does not need nearly as many apps, widgets, whatnot since it allows entire web page content to display correctly. Other phones cannot do that, and for that and some other reasons, they rely on apps to can the information and present it in a way they can handle.

    V.

    Welcome on board
The best advice I can give you is just add more repositories to you application manager. Search on this forum and you can find out more about each one, that will also aware you if you want to play with experimental software. Avoid subjects with 1.2 on this forum or at least read them intently (don't try it at home ) and enjoy your device!

I have been using my N900 for about 4 months now... I'm very happy and enjoy my device.
Would expect to see more development and features with firmware upgrade and new applications.
Patiently waiting... waiting.. and waiting for PR 1.2... lol

Best gadget I have ever owned since (In order of time) Casio pocket computer, Atari Lynx, Casio pocket tv, HP28s and sony minidisc player. Altogether one of the legends.

I love it, the phone has let me down few times (earpiece hardware bug - twice), time to time it lags a bit, it eats battery but besides all that it is just awesome.

I think for the most I am love with the potential. Python/PythonQT, now QT Creator. I _COULD_ do anything with this! If I ever needed to.

I'm completely infatuated with my n900, happy to transition from years of using blackberrys.

The only frustration is with the woeful battery life, and the fact my collection of external universal batteries are useless. I've ordered one of the usb cable adaptors that was suggested to get around the issue so I'm hoping this one will soon be resolved.

Other than that its been a month long honeymoon so far.

Curious. I am happy with my N900, but haven't studied Easy Debian yet. Would just like the real world biased opinion of a user.

    Thanks!
I picked it from the App manager, went out to cut my yard, and it was ready when I came back (note I was connected to home Wifi at the time; wouldn't try it over cellular data connection). It switches over into the LXDE desktop in under 20 seconds, including clicking on the little focus target. OO starts in around 40-45 seconds. Gnumeric much faster. I was able to install R (a statistical programming environment I use all the time), inkscape, and Gnumeric with no issues at all.

I knew what I wanted the phone for; in fact I've been waiting for something like this since I got my first Zaurus about 5 years ago. Finally, thanks to qole, I have just what I need.

I am very happy with the Nokia N900. The reason why I bought it: it has (can do) everything I need (want it to do).
Those who sell it because they "don't like it" are doing it because they didn't need it in the first place. They should be more careful spending so much money on something that they don't need.
However, I understand those people who sell it because it didn't work anymore or who were experiencing some nasty bugs.
Mine works great and I'll keep until it doesn't work anymore.
