The loaded map being the combined USA map that includes all the states but does not include Canada.

afaik there's not a single gsm phone that advertise that feature, because it's part of gsm's specification.
THIS is the point.
Moreover, if they advertise skype support, should I take into account the *possibility* of there being bugs like "network error" that won't allow you to log in into skype unless you reboot?
If they say "nice browser with flash", then it sometimes crashes on some pages, do you think "Oh, fine, that's was in the box, that's what I get, it must be fine" or "well, they really should release a fix for this soon"?
I was expecting some working features. Most of those problems *are* fixed but fixes are *not* released. This is not funny any more, that's all. Not after 3 months of waiting.

That in itself is going to be a problem for Nokia. The expectations grow even more when you wait 2 months, rather than 1 month.

What they could have dazzled with 4 weeks ago, might not do more that get a single low voice "yay, was that all they could do?" if released today.

So hopefully it is going well for them.

I probably deserve it, but I took the "probably no Flash 10.1" pretty badly

Nokia seems to have a very quick "love em' and leave em'" attitude with anything not called "symbian".

I intended to post "last BIG update", but I must accept my post as poorly written (as usual). Flame as needed.

I've asked the Nokia Digital Marketing Manager here in Oz and here's what she told me:
(Nokia contacted me first and asked if I had some questions about N900 and Oz release of N8)

When will PR 1.2 firmware be released?

At this stage the PR1.2 software is in test and is scheduled to be reviewed and released by the end of May
Also, this is an interesting response.

When will N900 get a full featured Ovi Maps like other Nokia phones?

Voice guided navigation and the online premium content such as traffic and speed cameras is unfortunately not available on the Nokia N900. Moving forward, however, all future Nokia smartphone handsets will have fully featured Ovi Maps.

End of May huh? To add to the bitterness and remember the long wait, perhaps people can still remember the April Fool prank for PR1.2. It's been over a month long now. Everyone was speculating that it was going to be released within that few days.

Then comes the HK version and along came new speculations that it will be launched within the few days yet again.

At least now there's an answer or proper information. They should have at least give a possible date, like "before end of May" (if not possible to give an exact date), rather than people waiting and speculating since February.

Still, hope this "speculation" is true, by end of May, if there's still no PR1.2, I think within that few days, will be another MAJOR speculation day.
