I'm happy to announce that my first maemo widget (Multi-calendar Date Widget) is successfully added to extras-devel repository:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/multical-date-widget/

This widget shows the current date of the specified calendar in your desktop.

you can change widget's calendar and language in widget settings.

Supported calendars includes Persian, Islamic/Hijri, Buddhist, Chinese, Coptic, Ethiopic, Gregorian, Hebrew, Indian, Japanese and Taiwan.

Same problem here: Widget is listed under "Desktop Menu > Add Widget" but clicking does not add it to the Desktop.
Going to "Add Widget" again it is still listed there.

It's missing a dependency on hildon-desktop-python-loader.
Install hildon-desktop-python-loader manually from the X Terminal for the time being and it'll work fine.

Oh, it supports Urdu. Heh.

After I installed Tethering Monitor 0.1-1 it was displayed on my Desktop.

Hence Tethmon installer obviously triggered something that Date Widget should also trigger when installing.

Probably qwerty12 is right as he's often right when he's right(TM).
