Hi there a while ago i read an article in the wiki about typing a code in the terminal to check the application versions available in the different repositories and install older versions.

Can anyone redirect me to that wiki. i cant seem to find it anymore.if i typ version check in the wiki search i get 500 results.

Thanks in advance!

as you know maemo is based on debian - so you can also always check ubuntu/debian wikis
but for now read these:

http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/ap...pt-get.en.html
http://linux.die.net/man/8/apt-get

and you can specify the version while installing it.
"apt-get install package_name-version_number_you_want"

Its both not really what i meant. there must be a code to run that is something like this:

apt-get install package=version

Where you can specify the package and see wich versions are available in wich repositories. i think it was sticky for some time on this forum.

After you saw the packages you could run above code to install a specific version of that software.

Why cant i find it in here!

Try:
Code:
apt-cache show package | grep Version
