I had that problem with my itouch for the longest time. Apparently, you have to press and hold until that magnifier thing comes up. Moving your finger moves the cursor. Letting go give you an option to select.

    very unintuitive

it's the same reason you can't post ROMs or links to cracked software or mp3s on forums
Didnt i just know someone would come in and start the argument against posting a link and from the texrat stable, oh well so be it your words carry no weight whatsoever because a link is exactly that, a link, and is not the actual file so Nokia even if they did want to be snooty wouldnt simply because of the facts of it just being a link and in any case enough references to that leaked firmware in practically 70% of threads now that Meamo.org would already be in trouble if that was the case AND it was in fact a member of this forum that downloaded it and put it on a download site AND told everyone on here where to get it.
Nokia are in the wrong for not making a statement at all regarding this so called leaked fw to the fact it is illegal or not.
Bit late to talk when the horse has alreadty bolted from the stable dont you think?.

On the iPhone - You can select and unselect 3G.

If you don't have a jailbroken one, then you go into settings and it's somewhere in there. Slide 3G to 'off'.. There you have GSM.
The onscreen keyboard on iPhone (portrait and landscp) are 1000 times BETTER than N900 (touch not stylus)

I really don't get you sometimes. Because something is possible doesn't mean you should do it. There's a probably a link to a torrent for Micrsoft Office. Everybody can google it and find it but that doesn't justify putting it on a forum or billboard.

I can run a red light when no one is around but that doesn't make it legal.

I meant the 3G network as internet, not just to talk.
Iv'e seen no where in the Options where it's possible to tell him to connect or disconnect to the Service Provider internet services.

Do you know whose servers this site is hosted on? Who owns the domain name?
    Give you a clue.

    Tech Email:hostmaster@nokia.com
    Name Server:NS.NOKIA.COM
    Name Server:NS2.NOKIA.COM
    Name Server:NS3.NOKIA.COM
    Name Server:NS4.NOKIA.COM
    Name Server:NS5.NOKIA.COM
    Name Server:NS6.NOKIA.COM

If Nokia does not want the link posted on their servers, it can't be posted. Pretty simple really.

I am interested in the experiences of people who have decided that the risks of trying the leak were worth it to them, but if every time it comes up we get back into this argument then all these threads are very likely to get locked/moved and I don't get to read about what's coming down the line.

    Pros :
    1. Visuals are silky smooth.
    2. Appstore is sick.
    3. Everything works in Portrait mode.

    Conns :
    1. Virtual Keyboard sucks.
    2. Selecting and deleting text sucks.
    3. Cannot set mp3 to ringtones without all sort of hacks, with didn't even work so far...
    4. No Flash.
    5. Cannot minimize apps to start / stop music / make phone call. LAME. (without jailbreaking it ofc).
    6. Battery survives far less then N900.
    7. Cannot take battery out to replace.
    8. Cannot copy music out of it like a normal MP3 player.
    9. Cannot manually connect and disconnect to 3g network AMG.
iphones are good at what they can do, which aint much :P
