I have created some database access files using microsoft office 2007, so I am wondering how I can view them on my n900, if anyone knows? I tried documents to view, but that kept asking me to purchase before I even got a chance to try it-so if there are any similar database viewers out there, that would be a great help. editing is not necessary. thanks

Microsoft Access is a proprietary format and a complex one at that. The technology is multi-layered and therefore highly complex. Implimenting a solution, even for reading, would involve a lot of work so I wouldn't hold out for a solution anytime soon. you might do better to export the data first or investigate Mono and writing something yourself.

good point! anything unofficial would no doubt be frowned upon by microsoft anyway. i heard "documents to go" may be able to read some database formats, but its paid for only. I think the easiest way around may be to just convert a database to a simpler format that the phone can read... thanks.

If you can place them on a machine that is always on then you can remote connect to an access database through ODBC I think?

"Documents To Go" has a trial period of 30 days.

Install it and see how you get on.

(I didn't see any mention of db formats though)
