With the new video conversion softwares out, can anyone help me to optimize conversions of videos for the N810?

I have MKV Video Converter which can convert to virtually anything I wish.

Not every movie has to be converted. First try to play with mplayer,it can play files that the media player can't. There is new build somwhere on the forum. If the movie is slow, several options can be used on the command line:
-srate 44100
Works better with tablet soundcard
-framedrop
Drops frames. try this first.
-vfm ffmpeg -lavdopts lowres=1:fast:skiploopfilter=all
Lowers the resolution. Results very, try if framedrop doesn't work
