Any chance of a Symbian emulator for N900 ?

Not a stupid question at all. Running Symbian on this hardware would probably be a fairly enjoyable experience. Many Nokia N900 owners have owned Symbian devices in the past and would have an instant familiarity with it. I'd like to see it.

Cool thanks, I just have a few Symbian apps I really like that there is nothing the same for N900..

when both symbian and maemo/meego are using Qt, apps and games will run on both systems.
that doesn't help for existing apps, though. therefore the smiley...

Still....

the more operating systems I can run on my n900 the better

Symbian would absolutely fly!!

man, i would love an symbian v1 and v3 emulator... it would open the hole app world of symbian for us... und for me, my favorite number one app on a mobile phone would run on my n900... the app i mean is called control freak (www.mtvoid.com)

The problem is, that the developers have stopped developing for symbian v3, so this app only workd with older versions (e.g. my nokia 6260)

This app is simply similar to the bluemamo app, but can also stream the desktop to your screen. yes, the whole desktop including zoom and mouse control...

how important is this app for me?
i have bought me a new 6260 after my old one was broken. if this one is broken too, i will buy me a new symbian v1/v2 phone for a lot of money...

or another kilelr appp:
minigps
you can collect the cells you are logged in, can rename them and can make events with logging in or out to the cell.
e.g. you go to your girl friend and it changfes the wallpaper to a picture of her. Then, you go to your other girl friend ( ;-) ) and she can see her picture. or you go to work and the phone activates the silent profile and after you leave your work, the phone isnt silent anymore...

so, if someone (maybe at nokia) could create this, i would pay a lot of money for this emulator! REALLY!!!

Symbian v1/v3 rules!

try rdesktop, it does exactly that on a windows machine.
or vnc for macOS or linux.
