After sending an email on Jul, 3rd to maemo-community mailing list and having no reply at all from the organizers of this contest I'll try to ask here (even if I don't think it's the right place to put this kind of informations):
1) Submitted entries should be accompanied by a forum post and/or a text file with the authors email, PayPal address, the name of the software and a brief description of the software. This file should be called "entry.txt"
What is the right section of the forum that contains all submissions?
Please don't point me here: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=53112 it's a 30 pages thread and I don't think there are 30 pages submissions.
2) Who do I have to send our emails, paypal account ecc... to? I don't want to publish these informations in a public thread, I'd like to send these only to the organizers of the contest.

3) Who are the organizers/responsables of the contest? I cannot find them here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_Coding_Competition_1
4) Where exactly the votation will take place? Who can vote? Which are the criteria of voting?
I think that an information like this should have been mandatory for a contest.
I felt quite lost about this contest, because I tried asking about this lot of times in #maemo and nobody knew anything about it.
Regards.

kojacker, I took the liberty of adding myself on the wiki page. If anything is wrong with what I did, feel free to scrap whatever I did. I've sent you a PM btw with more info.

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=758005
I'm in a hurry right now.. I guess I should improve the description for the competition entry..anything else required?
Try and get me a good write up for it
Good means brief as possible haha
So i'm currently releasing KhtEditor (http://khertan.net/khteditor) if nothing goes wrong during test....]

Thanks~
oh , so I don't need to submit any more info?Just pm the real email and paypal account to you?

But, alas, no readme so far thanks to my inherent dislike for writing documentation.

By the way, this is exactly the right place to ask questions, that's the whole purpose of this thread

It's simply to send any winnings out quicker, but we can collect it later.. no sweat
3) Who are the organizers/responsables of the contest? I cannot find them here: http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_Coding_Competition_1

I felt quite lost about this contest, because I tried asking about this lot of times in #maemo and nobody knew anything about it.
But we've had 5,317 views on the wiki so far so I'd have thought a few of them could have pointed you in the right direction
But, please, come into the competition with a spirit of forgiveness because not everything is going to be smooth or perfect, but we're getting there

Hehe, the one inside the app is just a placeholder with 3 fake titles and the corresponding fake sections...
If I had any actual readme, I would have posted it in the thread or (if I had found the volunteer post) sent it to you to correct my lacking English. But, alas, no readme so far thanks to my inherent dislike for writing documentation.

By the way , there have "Beginner Entry" column , what is the beginner contest about?

I originally hoped to offer some of Fake's lazer cut stands but his online shop has not reopened yet.. I'm still mulling this over.. I'll need to get my skates on.

The second one's not released until July 9th so they'd need wait an extra week or so..| The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to kojacker For This Useful Post: | ||
