I come from Symbian and I have played with Symbian^3. The grass isn't necessarily greener on the other side of the fence. Don't get me wrong, Symbian^3 is a nice and a welcome improvement over S60v5, but Maemo 5 just has more potential.

When I played with Symbian^3, I honestly did not miss it. I left 3.5G access for 2.5G/EDGE when going to the N900 so that should speak alot right there.

I'm thinking when Qt gets mainstream on both Symbian and Maemo, we'll see more apps. Nokia is going through challenging times having to support a multitude of OSes with limited resources.

That Email was the icing on the cake for me, or the straw that broke the camel's back. Maybe I should say slap in the face.
This is my 1st and last Nokia product.

Yeah... but we have MAEMO, not Symbian...
BTW, for me, the most amazing Nokia's sms was the one proudly announcing FREE OVI MAPS TURN-BY-TURN NAVIGATION!!!!

it really is such a slap on the face! "free turn-by-turn navigation" on all nokia phones (*except n900, one of the most expensive, "flagship" nokia products) improved ovi store, for every phone but one!

people say we should have known this before buying the n900 but seriously, i knew its a new platform but it was obvious that nokia has to bring it to the level of other nokia phones! its an expensive phone! if you're a nokia user, its expected that things that are available on ALL nokia phones should be available here too!

N900 WAS a success. They don't expected it, but "**** happens".
Lots of units pre-ordered.
Lots of units sold when available.
Instead of taking it as coming, increasing support for it, forgetting "step 4 of 5" and making it great NOW, the smart guys decided to announce MeeGo, un-supporting n900, trying to start "selling" us its "next device"...
Meanwhile, Android growing insanely.

Remember where we was at February, then THEY STILL COULD MAKE IT HAPPEN, N900 AS iPHONE-ANDROID KILLER.
But no, they are a super-company, they know what they are doing, they allies with Yahoo...
Trolls don't hate n900. Trolls hate Nokia KILLING n900.

Sure the phone has issues. Sure it isn't perfect. But I've really started to love the UI, the multitasking, the browser and all it's capabilities after massive daily usage. If you are so unhappy with yours, why not just sell it and go away?
