If you're not risk-averse you can shop around and find a seller that seems to provide quality products. I didn't have that much of a problem finding 1500 mAH cells either. Obvious Disclaimer If your n800 blows up and sets your house or pants on fire, don't come crying to me.

I got one called MaxCell and it "claims" to be 1900mAh... I bought it off eBay from a german seller... I also have 2 original Nokia 1500mAh batteries... I have not done any offical tests but they all seem to last about the same... around 3 hours of constant use with screen on brightest... I wouldn't go any lower than 1500mAh.
