Hey guys" I have been thinking lately on a smart phone that would be ideal for myself and just wondering what device (future) would be "ideal" for you.
What features and wants would you like on a future device ?.

I know that ppl's needs and wants are different from one another so i'm just wondering ?

Ideal phone? It's not out yet.

But as far as I go... I'll be the odd man out. I want it to be supported with regular vendor (3rd party) and internal (1st party) updates, have video calling for Skype and GoogleTalk with GoogleVoice integration, Flash 10.1 on a 4.13 inch or higher screen, a physical keyboard, ability to synchronize with Google Calendar and DoubleTwist or any music app I decide upon (I personally use Zune's software) and allows me to update the bits of the OS from normal OS updates that aren't tied to me waiting for some esoteric CPU build.

A customizable UI - within reason - that's a good mix of usable, non-flashy yet nice looking with a good update path and a 8mp, auto-focus, aspherical lens with full MMS support out of the box and integrated as deeply as the other embedded bits.

I don't care too much about the CPU, et al. Just have enough RAM to never slow down and enough ways to store my stuff that I don't worry about it immensely.

Oh. And not by Sony.

N900 with:
improved battery life, a mature&mainstream OS (Android/improved Maemo/future Meego; not going to list software details further), no small root memory problems, twice the (fysical) RAM, updated top processor and graphics chip (for when it would come out), xenon flash, usb host capabilities (in an easy way).
And, dare to dream, lower price.

Omitted all the great features it already has.

All I know is that it sucks to want want want and no manufacturers ever listen in a timely manner as to what customers really need and want on a smart phone device.
specially for the ""$$ we pay for these devices. It's like owning a Ferrari but being surprisingly disappointed with it.
Just blows my mind that we are always left somewhat disappointed with our devices with so much info on the net about wants and needs.

Until someone invents a thumbnail-size fusion reacter, I think our CPU needs will always be ahead of our battery technology. So, how about a FIFO hot-swappable battery solution: With some special contact technology, you push a freshly charged battery in one side as the almost-spent battery comes out the other. Or worst case, can I at least use a wall charger to allow me to hot-swap batteries? Please? Pretty please? I can does this with my 5 year old laptop. And it looks like it would be feasable with the N8 design.

The Nokia N900 with a better phone stack that has the bells and whistles like individual ring tones for contacts, voice dialing etc and email like a blackberry.

If I could get the email and phone capabilities of a blackberry with the browser, ssh terminal and keyboard of the N900 I would be happy as.

As it is I get to carry a N900 in one pocket and a blackberry in the other.
Hoping the new Dell tablet comes closer to something that does it all and I can sell the N900 and Blackberry and never have to buy another Nokia or Rim device again in my life.
