Works perfectly for me. Certainly worth the upgrade.

    It is like this

If you think the only thing that happens is what is on the news then you would, rightly, be afraid to step out of your house, but fortunately what is on the news(or posted to a forum) are only the EXCEPTIONAL stories.

    Yes, update to 1.2

Upgraded to PR1.2 here. No regrets

Not having enought RootFS space caused me some OTA update problems. When it did eventually OTA update the UI was sticky/laggy so decided to go down the Maemo Flasher 3.5 route.

The flash itself took several minutes with the back up restore taking 45/60 mins afterwards.

    1. Using the device's back up application, I backed up everything it allows you to back up.

    2. I then flashed the device using Maemo Flasher 3.5 (I didnt flash the EMMC though)

    3. Then i restored everything from the back up.

After all that it's as smooth as silk and it's being used as normal. Also all files etc on the memory car & main memory remained in place throughout, nothing deleted.

From what i read it seems if the EMMC area is flashed too it wipes the main memory area clean ?? Maybe someone can confirm one way or the other ?

Did you follow to the exact command to the letter and gert all the case correct?
    flasher-3.5.exe -F xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.bin -f -R

where xxxxxxxx.bin the the firmware you downloaded.

Looks like you missed the -F at the front or the -f -R at the end

Will there be a problem with OTA upgrade if /var/cache/apt/archives is soft linked to /home/opt/manually_moved/var_cache_apt_archives/ ?

You will only encounter this with a full reflash, because PR1.2 indeed doesn't contain the OpenGL 1.1 package anymore.
However, there is a fix for it and you can install the package regardless.

I am very happy with PR1.2 and it was worth the upgrade.
Too bad App Manager is still slow with refreshing etc. after installing or updating an app.
But it sure is nice that you can install all updates at once now.
