    Hi!

Ever since updating to PR 1.2 I've had a bit of a problem hanging on to my operator's 3G network.

I used to feel that the N900 was really resiliant in maintaining connection to the network, but now my phone is switching to 2G more often than was necessary before.

I installed the "3G/2G switcher" app to try to figure out whether my device's preferences in Dual mode simply have now leaned towards 2G. This isn't the case. The phone simply can't cling on to the 3G network. On "3G mode" I simply lose connection to my network.

Is anyone else experiencing worse (3G) network reception after 1.2.?

I need to take my phone in for repairs (the earpiece is broken Again), so I'm wondering if I should tell them to look into this issue as well.

EDIT: I must specify that I am now talking only of connection to the 3G network, as the 2G network works no problem. Calls work just fine.

Yes, I am also experiencing very weak signals for 2G, 2.5G, 3G, and 3.5G.. heck even my wifi reception is ALOT weaker than before...

Okay so I'm not at least completely alone.

To get the conspiracy mill running, my first suspicion is that Nokia weakened the power of the component looking for a signal to improve batterylife.

Can anyone look into this suspicion of mine and prove ot true or false, or is that bit of the OS not open for prying eyes?

My phone is usable, but its just a bit annoying surfing the web with the constant breaks.

Well I tried checking the power and it's on 100mW like how it was before... (for wifi).. and it's not just the wifi every type of reception is a lot weaker now than in P1.1.1

dont mean to be a killjoy but my 3g signal strength is a lot better now, wifi is just as good as before, infact the whole phone performs much better, almost no bugs or issues now!

Do certain phones work better because of a complete fresh flash compared to just an update by any chance?.
