Hi,

I wanted my N900 for calls, sms, reading web and playing MP3s. Now, Im experiencing some problem after the 1.2 update, regarding performance.

1) After buying this device with PR 1.1 on default settings, Ive been experiencing some twitching while listening to music and surfing or opening contact windows or stuff ...
2) I overclocked the device to some 900mHz and those performance problems vanished ...
3) Now, after clean flash of both emmc and system, Im running on 1150mHz and still there are those problems again ... not only when surfing, but also (for example) when I leave my home and the device starts connecting ICQ and FB CHat through GPRS ... the sound againd is like listening to a CD-player during a bampy ride or something ...(like "jamming" ... sorry for that word, but Im not sure how to express it)

So, anyone experiencing those kind of problems after 1.2?

I think about reverting back to 1.1, but now I have my n900 set up so great I hope that wont be necessary ....

Help, please!

Was ur previous (900mhz) also titans kernel or what? Or is it too high overclock for ur device then, could try different (lower) oc?

Another option - what about setting the mp3player process high priority, some way of making sure there are some lets say 5% of the (OCed) cpu available for music player ...

Well, I used 1.1@900 and all was OK - then I moved to 1.2@900 and the problems started - after that, I tried higher frequencies but it didnt solved the problem.

But apart from this, my device runs great either 800, 950 or 1100 mhz ...

EDIT: Ill try your idea and will scale it down and try again ... No, not working.

EDIT 2: I experiment setting high "renice" value ... what process should I be looking for - mediplayer? And what is pulseaudio for?

ok, renice now helping. ppl, is there any way to reserve say 5 percent of cpu processing power to a process?

EDIT: I reniced pulseaudio process on -20 and it helped quite a lot ... hope its not some kind of placebo ...
