My favourite phone lacks a FFT analyser, say the regular 32 band display would be nice, the microphone isn't linear but what a heck, it's still better than nothing and we still get cool graphics out of sound surrounding the area, decibel metter would be a bonus, but I bet it's too hard to implement to give even accuracy of +-6 db.
My vision has, that the application could have few switchable settings:
Graphic Modes:
32 bar mode (octaves), with thick bars, 3 colors
a cool, but not usefull, say 256 bars with gradient colouring
Settings:
* Realtime analysis
* Average on 1,3,5 secs
* optional Peak hold
* bar droprate, slow, medium, fast
