Hi,
I have exactly the same issue. Unfortunately searching for myself doesn't seem to fix it for me. It finds my contact if I use juat my first name, but if I search with my surname too it doesn't work.
John
EDIT: There are some contacts that I cannot find at all, and several ohers that I can find if I search for just "Surname" or "Firstname" but not "Firstname Surname".

Hi,
My contacts were exported (from the contacts app on the N900) befor upgrading to PR1.2. I flashed to 1.2 and since importing my contacts I've had these issues. So I guess it's not a problem with "Address Book" on OSX, just with importing from vCard.

Hi again.
Yeah, I've tried that too, and the same thing happened. I also had to clear my contacts once, when I had done the import, since the persons avatars wouldn't load on SMS.
Odd bug, kind of have to figure out whether renaming would fix it. Also, I noticed, that some of my contacts don't have anymore "Mobile phone" on their numbers, it's just "Number"/etc. I have my N900 on Finnish so I can't tell for sure what's it's corresponding on English.

IfI browse my contacts, I think all the contacts have mobile numbers (not just numbers) unless they aren't mobile numbers anyway. Do you know where the contacts database is stored so we could check that for any inconsistencies?

I tried to search forum quickly, about this problem, didn't find any similar cases.
So, I have a new problem with my N900. I accidentally managed to erase my contacts from the Contacts and thus recovered them via vCard-file. I got the names and numbers back, great! Everything seemed to be ok, though I've lost some info (e.g. one number and adress from one person).
Now I noticed, that whenever I try to let the phone guess the recipient on SMS, it says "XXX is not on contacts list". What? This worked for me earlier and not even boot fixed it. Let me demonstrate:
Type e.g. "ma ja", without quotes (in this case let's name him as Matti Jaakkola), to the recipients. N900 should guess it from the contacts, however it doesn't and tells me, that "ma ja" is not on the contacts list.
Any way to fix this? This is a major problem to me, since I'm used to type names in short and this takes more time, than using shortcuts.
Thanks in advance.
PS: Yes, I'm running PR 1.2 and this is most likely not relative to that, it seems to be a bug on SMS, in my opinion.
EDIT: Ok, this is weird. I searched my own name and the SMS popped up my name and my friends and after that all worked nicely again. I'll keep this thread here still though, if this happens again. Odd.
